Yesterday evening the R N Clarke Fine Art team headed over to the opening of the Ashbourne Festival 2012 so see their Summer exhibition. Located amongst the winding roads of the Derbyshire countryside, Ashbourne is a town full of character and the entrance to the exhibition is no exception as you make your way from the cobbled street into the gorgeous Town Hall Ballroom.
R N Clarke was kindly invited to exhibit his work along with six other artists and the exhibition offers an intriguing mix of styles and mediums to explore. Also hanging is the Ashbourne Open Art Exhibition selection offering another curious group of paintings and drawings to view.
For his peronsal selection R N Clarke chose four oil paintings- Ilam Church, Jacob Wrestling with an Angel, Out for a Walk and Crucifixion- and two charcoal and conté crayon drawings- From Inside a Pine Wood and Silver Birch.
Open from 11am to 6pm the exhibition makes a really fascinating visit. It opened to the public today and will close with its last day in a week's time on Saturday 30th June, whilst the Ashbourne Festival continues with an exciting programme of events until Sunday 8th July.
